Toyota India is getting ready for a major launch in March. According to reports, Toyota will launch the all new Corolla Altis in India most likely by March. This will be the same Corolla Altis that the company launched in Taiwan last year.
Toyota will look to reclaim their spot in the premium sedan segment with the launch of the all new Corolla Altis, which will go against the recently launched Hyundai Elantra in India. The 2017 Toyota Corolla Altis will come with only cosmetic changes and no mechanical updates.
The Corolla gets a sportier look for 2017 thanks to a new front grille and LED headlamps. The L, LE and LE Eco grades gain Bi-LED headlamps, while complex-LED headlamps come standard on SE, XSE and XLE grades. With the base L model adding a back-up camera, that feature is now standard across the Corolla line. Redesigned 16-inch wheels are standard on the LE and XLE, while the SE and XSE step up into standard 17-inch alloy wheels.
Under the hood, the new Toyota Corolla Altis will come with the same 1.8-litre VVTi petrol engine that produces 138 bhp of peak power and 173 Nm of peak torque, while the 1.4 D-4D diesel will churn out maximum power output of 87 bhp and maximum torque of 205 Nm.
Both engines of the new Toyota Corolla Altis will come mated to a six-speed manual transmission, with reports suggesting that the petrol mill will get a seven-speed automatic transmission.
The new Toyota Corolla Altis will come with a wheelbase of 2700 mm and measures 4620 mm in length, 1775 mm in width, 1475 mm in height. The Corolla Altis will have a ground clearance of 175 mm and will have a boot space of 470-litres. It has a fuel efficiency of 21.30 Kmpl with a fuel capacity of 50-litres.
The new Toyota Corolla Altis will compete against the likes of Hyundai Elantra, Volkswagen Jetta, Renault Fluence, Skoda Octavia and Nissan Sunny in India.
We expect the new Toyota Corolla Altis to come for a price of Rs 14 lakh (ex showroom, New Delhi) – Rs 18 lakh (ex showroom, New Delhi).
