The Jaguar F-PACE was adjudged the best car at WWCOTY.
The results for the Womens World Car of the Year 2016 are out and the Jaguar F-PACE has been crowned the overall winner. Seventeen women journalists who are working in the field of automobiles are part of the judging panel.
The WWCOTY 2016 award was given to the Jaguar F-PACE from an initial list of 294 cars that were segregated into six different categories. The list was cut down 32 cars across all categories before finally the winner of each category was decided. The overall winner was decided from amongst the winners of all the categories.
Honda’s Jazz and the Civic won in the Budget Car and Family Car category, respectively, while Ford with its iconic muscle car, the Mustang, won in the Performance car category. The Volvo S90 was crowned the winner in the Luxury Car category, while the Toyota Prius won the Green Car. The F-PACE was adjudged the winner in the Crossover/SUV category.
This year a new award was introduced in memory of Holly Reich, one of the original judges for the Women’s World Car of the Year since its inception seven years ago, and each judge was allowed to nominate any car of their choice irrespective of the category. The McLaren 570S was adjudged the winner in this category.
