Vitara Brezza sets forth a challenge towards Ford EcoSport in terms of sale. EcoSport, which had reached its milestone of the highest sale upto that of 68.9 per cent until March 2016, receives a setback by Maruti’s new launched SUV Vitara Brezza, which experienced the highest sale up to 5,563 units in the first month of its launch. These numbers count to be nearly 1,107 units more than of EcoSport, who have experienced a sale of 4,456 units until March 2016. So is the reason which has made the former override the latter in terms of sale? Let’s discover the hidden facts here.
Dimensions and wheelbase
The much-awaited SUV from Maruti, the Vitara Brezza has finally launched in the Indian market at an ex-showroom price of Rs 6.99 lakh. This Vitara Brezza comes with a well-designed tough body and an engine capacity of 1.3 liters. Coming to dimensions; the Brezza measure 3995x1790x1640mm, which is in contrast to the EcoSport, which is 4mm longer than this Maruti product. The wheelbase measures 2520mm and 2500mm for the EcoSport and Brezza respectively. In terms of ground clearance; while EcoSport stands 200mm, Brezza comes in at 198mm of the ground. Overall consideration about the dimensions keeps EcoSport ahead of Vitara.

- Reverse parking camera
While those packed in the EcoSport include

Coming to the safety measures associated, while the Brezza adheres to the driver side as the standard, the EcoSport looks after the overall safety standards of the riders. Brezza includes front passenger airbags and ABS with EBD as the base variant options. On the other hand, EcoSport includes 6 airbags, Anti-lock braking systems (ABS) along with sensors for rear parking. This indicates the grandeur of Brezza over EcoSport in terms of safety measures.
Knowing the Engine and transmission capacity
On an additional note, Maruti has invested certain other cosmetic features within its SUV Vitara Brezza that helps it stand out in the market overriding the Ford EcoSport. They include unique bumper mounted turn indicators, body cladding with plastic protection beneath, roof rails and dual tone color scheme which add a trend to its look. Last but not the least; the engine specifications can never be omitted. While the Brezza comes powered by a 200 DDiS 1.3 liter diesel engine, EcoSport is powered by either a 1.5-Liter Ti-VCT or 1.0 liter Eco Boost petrol or 1.5 liters TDCi diesel unit. However while at a range of around 7 lakh while Brezza offers 5-speed manual gearbox with no automatic transmission, the EcoSport provides the same for only its 1.5-liter petrol variant. All of these together contribute to the factors which have led to an increase in the sale of Brezza over EcoSport.
